I’m putting together some designs for a Chrome Extension that would basically serve as a home page every time you open a new tab. I’ve seen some out there, but frankly they are terrible. I want one that is beautiful and provides lots of functionality that a user would want instantly at their fingertips. This would be fairly customizable and tailored to each user.
Some features I’m already considering:
- Bookmarks
- RSS Feed
- Notes
- Gmail Notifier
- Sports Scores
The main thing is a good event calendar and task management.
How would this be different than igoogle?
I wouldn’t say it’s a startling break from iGoogle. The idea, however, would be a much better integration of social media as well as a few other elements where I think iGoogle widgets fall short.
